The Sony HVR-Z1 is a professional, broadcast quality, HDV camcorder. It has become popular for producers of documentaries and other television programs because of its small size and relatively low cost. It records in 1080i, also called true or full hd.

It uses the DV recording format however it can record in DV, DVCAM and HDV versions of the format. It can also record in PAL (25 frames) and NTSC (30 frames).

  • Simultaneous Operation of LCD Panel & Viewfinder: Allowing you greater flexibility to focus shots accurately via Viewfinder while simultaneously framing images via the fold-out LCD Panel.
  • 6 Assign Buttons: 6 Assign Buttons are prepared to allow you to customise your camera. 6 frequently used functions including Hyper Gain, AE Override, White Balance Level for Outdoor, and Safety Zone Marker can be selected from over 10 available parameters.
  • Six Assign Buttons: Functions frequently used in the field can be assigned to six Assign Buttons (push buttons), allowing operators to make rapid changes under field conditions.
